The Kilgore College Faculty Association includes all full-time faculty members. Its purpose is to strengthen communication among faculty, provide opportunities for professional growth, and ensure faculty voices are represented in college governance.
Â
The Faculty Senate, authorized by the Kilgore College Board of Trustees in accordance with Texas Education Code § 51.3522, serves as the representative body of the Faculty Association. The Senate’s role is advisory only: it provides a structured means for faculty to communicate recommendations to the College administration and Board of Trustees.
In fulfilling this role, the Faculty Senate:
Â
Represents the perspectives of faculty in matters affecting teaching, learning, and professional life;
Serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information;
Provides input to administration on policies and procedures; and
Conducts its business in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act to ensure transparency and accountability.
