The business department offers a 36-Hour Certificate and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting. These programs are designed for students who feel they will not have the opportunity to pursue a traditional bachelor’s degree at a university. These programs emphasize technical training in the field of accounting. Some coursework in these programs is not intended for transfer to a four-year school. Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting should follow the degree plan for the Business Administration Field of Study.

The Advertising & Graphic Design Technology Program prepares students for staff positions and freelance assignments in creative industries where they may design commercial packaging, print publications, book covers, annual reports, websites, advertisements, mobile apps, brands, identities and more.

Students are trained in leading industry-standard software while developing conceptual thinking, ideation and professional practices essential to success in the visual arts field. Hard work and personal commitment are expected, but faculty also recognize the value of enjoying the creative process.

The AGDT faculty sponsors the KC Visual Arts Club, giving students opportunities to meet and participate in creative, social and educational activities outside the classroom. Club field trips provide opportunities to visit regional design studios and advertising agencies, offering a firsthand look at professionals succeeding in the industry.

Kilgore College offers general education, art and design courses necessary to apply to a university program in the arts and/or enter into your own professional practice. The Fine Arts Program provides a comprehensive range of foundation art courses. These courses are a combination of studio practice and academic lecture. The art major gains complete instruction in art foundations as outlined by the Coordinating Board’s Transfer Curriculum in the Visual Arts. The Visual Arts faculty sponsors the KC Visual Arts Club which provides students with opportunities to meet and share in creative, social, and educational activities outside the classroom. Club field trips are organized to visit fine art studios and design agencies in the region, to glimpse the work of professionals succeeding in the industry.
The KC Athletic Training Program strives to provide an educational atmosphere to students in the AT program, giving them the tools needed to transition easily into a four-year Athletic Training Education Program, then into an Entry-Level Master’s Program. Students will learn in a variety of environments in the Athletic Training Facility and on the fields and courts. Students in the KCAT program will be exposed to a variety of sports and various healthcare environments in which to observe and learn different technical skills involved with the progression of Athletic Training. Students will learn through hands on experience under the supervision of Certified Athletic Trainers.
Kilgore offers one the best programs in the nation for serious students interested in a career in automotive repair. KC’s NATEF and ASE certified program is the only one of its kind in East Texas and is designed to teach the basic automotive theories and tasks related to all ASE Certification areas. A lecture/lab format gives students hands-on experience. All automotive courses are taught by ASE certified instructors. Today’s rapidly changing technology requires much more training and skills than were required of automotive technicians in the past. Kilgore College will prepare you for success.

Begin a career as a barber by taking classes at Kilgore College-Longview. Barber instruction will prepare students to take the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation examination. Upon successful completion of the exam, graduates will be eligible to become licensed Class A barbers in Texas.

The Biology Department at Kilgore College offers courses designed to provide a solid foundation in the biological sciences. Coursework is available for biology and other science majors, non-majors, pre-nursing students and pre-allied health students. These courses transfer to universities, fulfill science requirements for an associate degree and, in some cases, satisfy Core Curriculum requirements.

This curriculum leads to an Associate of Arts degree with a Field of Study in Business Administration. The program is designed to prepare students to continue toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with major fields that may include accounting, finance, marketing, management and management information systems.

All business administration pathways complete the same foundational coursework during the first two years, leading to the associate degree. This coursework is designed to transfer toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the four-year institution of the student’s choice.

While all business administration students pursue the same general degree path initially, specific university requirements and major-field expectations may vary. Students are encouraged to work closely with advisors and prospective transfer institutions to ensure a smooth transition.
