About Advertising and Graphic Design Technology

The Advertising & Graphic Design Technology Program prepares students for staff positions and freelance assignments in creative industries where they may design commercial packaging, print publications, book covers, annual reports, websites, advertisements, mobile apps, brands, identities and more.

Students are trained in leading industry-standard software while developing conceptual thinking, ideation and professional practices essential to success in the visual arts field. Hard work and personal commitment are expected, but faculty also recognize the value of enjoying the creative process.

The AGDT faculty sponsors the KC Visual Arts Club, giving students opportunities to meet and participate in creative, social and educational activities outside the classroom. Club field trips provide opportunities to visit regional design studios and advertising agencies, offering a firsthand look at professionals succeeding in the industry.
