Preparation to become a licensed Class “A” Barber

About Barber Program

Begin a career as a barber by taking classes at Kilgore College-Longview. Barber instruction will prepare students to take the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation examination. Upon successful completion of the exam, graduates will be eligible to become licensed Class A barbers in Texas.

Career Outlook: Barber

Students interested in barbering may pursue careers in men’s grooming, hair cutting, beard design, shaving services, salon ownership and personal care services.
