Accounting

The business department offers a 36-Hour Certificate and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting. These programs are designed for students who feel that they will not have the opportunity to pursue a traditional bachelor’s degree at a university. These programs emphasize technical training in the field of accounting. Some of the coursework in these programs is not intended for transfer to a four-year school. Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting should follow the degree plan for the Business Administration Field of Study.

Interested in the healthcare field? The AOP program also features specialized training for medical office careers, including courses in medical administrative support, medical insurance, coding, and medical law and ethics—preparing you for roles in high-demand healthcare settings.

Advertising and Graphic Design Technology

The Advertising & Graphic Design Technology Program prepares you for staff positions and freelance assignments where you might design commercial packaging, print publications, book covers, annual reports, websites, advertisements, mobile apps, brands and identities, and more. Students are trained in the leading industry standard software and in conceptual thinking, ideation, and professional practices. Hard work and personal commitment are expected of visual arts students, but the faculty also recognizes the value of enjoying the creative process. The AGDT faculty sponsors the KC Visual Arts Club which provides students with opportunities to meet and share in creative, social and educational activities outside the classroom. Club field trips are organized to visit design studios and advertising agencies in the region, to glimpse the work of professionals succeeding in the industry.

Arts

Kilgore College offers general education, art and design courses necessary to apply to a university program in the arts and/or enter into your own professional practice. The Fine Arts Program provides a comprehensive range of foundation art courses. These courses are a combination of studio practice and academic lecture. The art major gains complete instruction in art foundations as outlined by the Coordinating Board’s Transfer Curriculum in the Visual Arts. Athletic Training

The KC Athletic Training Program strives to provide an educational atmosphere to students in the AT program, giving them the tools needed to transition easily into a four-year Athletic Training Education Program, then into an Entry-Level Master’s Program. Students will learn in a variety of environments in the Athletic Training Facility and on the fields and courts. Students in the KCAT program will be exposed to a variety of sports and various healthcare environments in which to observe and learn different technical skills involved with the progression of Athletic Training. Students will learn through hands on experience under the supervision of Certified Athletic Trainers.

Automotive Technology

Kilgore offers one the best programs in the nation for serious students interested in a career in automotive repair. KC’s NATEF and ASE certified program is the only one of its kind in East Texas and is designed to teach the basic automotive theories and tasks related to all ASE Certification areas. A lecture/lab format gives students hands-on experience. All automotive courses are taught by ASE certified instructors. Today’s rapidly changing technology requires much more training and skills than were required of automotive technicians in the past. Kilgore College will prepare you for success.

Barber Program

Begin a career as a Barber by taking classes at Kilgore College-Longview. Barber instruction will qualify you to take the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) examination. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will be a licensed Class “A” Barber.

Biological Sciences

The Biology Department at Kilgore College offers courses that are designed to provide a solid background in the biological sciences. We offer courses for Biology and other science majors, non-majors, Pre-Nursing and Pre-Allied Health majors. These courses will transfer to a university, fulfill the science requirements for an associate’s degree and some will fulfill the requirements of the Core Curriculum.

Business Administration

This curriculum leads to an Associate of Arts degree with a Field of Study in Business Administration. The program is designed to prepare the student to continue toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with major fields of in a variety of areas including Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, and Management Information Systems.

Fields of study in Business Administration:

All of the fields in Business Administration complete the same coursework in the first two years. The completion of this coursework leads to an Associate of Arts degree. The degree falls in the Bachelor of Business Administration degree the four-year school of the student’s choice. All areas of business receive the B.B.A. degree but focus in the major field selected by the student. Specific requirements vary from university-to-university. It is imperative that the student be aware of such requirements.

The Kilgore College business management program is designed to train students for entry into supervisory, management, and business positions in a variety of fields. The student may choose a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree or a shorter certificate program in Business Management or Entrepreneurship.
