Kilgore College Theatre will bring Washington Irving’s classic tale to the stage with its upcoming production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” set for Oct. 8-11 in Van Cliburn Auditorium on the Kilgore campus.
The production features a fast-paced retelling of the familiar story through physical storytelling, an eerie atmosphere and humor.
“This adaptation gives our students a chance to tell a classic story in a way that is highly physical, theatrical and fun,” said Micah Goodding, KC Theatre instructor. “Audiences can expect the mystery and atmosphere they know from ‘Sleepy Hollow,’ but there is also a lot of humor and energy that makes this version especially entertaining.”
Public performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8-10 and 2 p.m. Oct. 11.
KC Theatre will also offer school and community matinees at 10 a.m. Oct. 8-9. Each matinee will include a post-show talkback with members of the cast. Free study guides are available for groups by emailing boxoffice@kilgore.edu.
General admission tickets are $10, with tickets for KC students priced at $7. School groups of 10 or more may purchase tickets for $5 per student.
Tickets may be reserved online at www.kilgore.tix.com or through the KC Theatre box office at (903) 983-8126 or boxoffice@kilgore.edu.
Van Cliburn Auditorium is located in the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center on the Kilgore campus.
