Industry Dance Company

Industry Dance Company is Kilgore College Dance Department’s premiere pre-professional dance company. The company comprises sophomore dancers from the KC Dance Department who exhibit exceptional technical abilities and strong work ethic, as well as a passion for furthering their performance and artistic experience.

Industry Dance Company members are the epitome of KC Dance Department students in all areas: performance, leadership, work ethic and rigor. Members are expected to achieve the highest level of commitment in rehearsals, ALL classes (dance and non-dance) and (if applicable) Rangerette practice. If members do not achieve that level of expectation, members will be dismissed. All trips are covered by the Kilgore College Dance Department. No additional fees are required.

  • What does Industry do?
  • Perform in a festival in the Fall (schedules-willing) or recruitment event(s)
  • Films and video for Coast2Coast Productions (potentially)
  • Any additional filming for Rangerettes
  • Performs a piece at TDEA in January
  • Assists with TDEA workshop (if willing)
  • Performs an additional dance in Dance Concert, Christmas Show, and GND
  • Attends the American College Dance Festival (if travel budget allows) or Dance Residency trip
  • Performs for lecture-demonstrations for Officer camps in the summer (depending on availability)
  • Assists with any Revels Master Classes and any other master classes throughout the year
  • Performs in Kilgogh Art Festival, Geekend, and/or Derrick Lighting
  • What is required of Industry Dance Company Members?
  • Must have had at least one semester of Freshmen Modern
  • Must be in at least two dance classes every semester
  • Required to take both modern classes their Sophomore Year
  • Must be an active member of Dance Club
  • Must register for 12 hours (Rangerette requirements)
  • Any Industry member who fails ANY semester will be dismissed from the company
  • Mrs. Aulds has the right to demote any member who does not uphold the rules of the Rangerette Director’s Contract
  • If Industry member acquires an injury, member is still a part of the company in any capacity and should still attend all rehearsals
  • Members must be available for any additional rehearsals throughout the year (fall, spring, and possible summer rehearsals)
  • Provide choreographic input for all aspects of performances
  • How do I audition?
  • Industry is a full-year audition process. In Freshman modern (and all dance classes), Mrs. Aulds’ takes note of students’ work ethic and artistic initiative.
  • In the Spring of students’ Freshman year, there will be a video assignment. This video assignment will include answering a few questions and presenting it in a creative way.
