About the program

This course will prepare for entry into a healthcare career as a Sterile Processing Technician, which will teach you the techniques, procedures and safety precautions of decontamination and sterilization of medical and surgical equipment/instruments as well as the distribution of supplies and equipment. Class size is 10 students. After completion of this course students will be ready to sit for the certification exam with Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Certification Examination (CBSPD) to begin a career in hospitals and surgery centers.

  • Documentation of all required basic or childhood immunizations; including a current tuberculosis skin test, documentation of starting and completing the Hepatitis B vaccination, and current flu shot.
