The Gamma Omicron Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society at Kilgore College is thrilled to announce that Annabelle Phillips, of Hallsville, has been selected as a 2024 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar.
The New Century Workforce Pathway Scholarship program is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Foundation with additional support provided by PTK.
More than 2,200 applications were received and evaluated on academic achievement, leadership, service, and significant endeavors.
Out of the 2,200 applicants, Phillips received the highest score in the state of Texas.
As a New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar, Phillips will receive a $1,500 scholarship and will be recognized during the Association of Community College Trustees’ (ACCT) Leadership Congress, set for Oct. 23–26 in Seattle, Wash.
This is the second time this year Phillips has been honored by PTK with a financial scholarship.
She is also an All-Texas Academic Team member, the current Vice President of PTK at KC, and the current President of the KC Art Club. In the Fall, Phillips will assume the role of PTK President at KC.
