About the Artist

Emily Everitt received her Master of Fine Arts and Master of Art degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2026. Working with tangible materials including clay, paper and fabric, she creates layered multimedia works that invite viewers to consider the complexity of emotion and what it means to feel.

Everitt currently serves as an art teacher at Canton High School. As an installation artist, she creates large-scale, mixed-media works designed to transform a space and immerse the viewer within a theme.

Artist Statement

“My work is inspired by habitual sketch booking and the insatiable need to understand emotions. Emotions are intriguing to me due to their complex nature. An object, image, or phrase can bring with them a whirl of sentimental layers that contradict one another. Where words and memory failed to convey the emotion: Color, line, and visual imagery helped me give the feeling shape and understanding.”
