About Theatre (Drama)

The Kilgore College Theatre Department seeks to balance a rigorous production and performance schedule with a substantial and challenging academic experience. Small classes (average ratio: 1 to 16) allow each instructor to give students a great deal of individual attention, enhancing the probability of the student establishing good study habits and a higher GPA. Performances are held in the newly renovated Van Cliburn Auditorium. Opportunities for immediate performance assignments are an additional plus in this department. For more than 50 years the KC Theatre program has enjoyed an excellent reputation state-wide and the support of its administration and campus-wide faculty.

Kilgore College Theatre Invites Schools and Community to Fall Production of Dear Anne, From Nina by Claudia Haas

Oct. 9–12, 2025 | Van Cliburn Auditorium, Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center

Kilgore College Theatre opens its 2025–26 season with Dear Anne, From Nina, a heartfelt historical drama inspired by the real-life letters exchanged between Anne Frank and her American pen pal, Juanita Wagner. Performances will run Oct. 9–12, 2025, at the Van Cliburn Auditorium inside the Anne Dean Turk Fine Arts Center.

Set during World War II, the play moves between Anne’s hidden life in Amsterdam and Nina’s experiences on an Iowa farm. Through letters, the story explores friendship, distance, and how young people make sense of a world in crisis.
