KC receives TPS safety grant to expand campus AED program

Kilgore College has been selected to receive a $18,660 grant from the Texas Political Subdivisions Joint Self-Insurance Fund (TPS) through its 2025 Safety Grant Program, funding the purchase of 15 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) installed across campus along with Stop the Bleed supplies and first aid kits.

KCโ€™s application was one of 27 chosen out of 43 submissions statewide.

TPS noted that it is committed to helping its members secure resources that can reduce the severity and frequency of losses.

โ€œWe appreciate TPSโ€™s investment in the safety of our students, employees and visitors,โ€ said Andre Belaski, KCPD chief. โ€œAdding these AEDs and trauma-response kits across campus significantly improves our ability to act quickly in life-threatening emergencies.โ€
