Cosmetology is the art and science of beautifying hair, skin and nails. The Kilgore College Cosmetology program prepares students to successfully complete the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation written and practical examinations required for licensure.
Students gain preparation through classroom instruction and hands-on salon experience in the program’s salon facilities while working with real clientele in a professional learning environment.
The program includes multiple certificate pathways, including the Operator Certificate, which prepares students for state licensure and provides foundational knowledge for salon management and business ownership.
Students pursuing cosmetology may prepare for careers in hair design, skincare, nail technology, salon management, beauty consulting and personal care services.
