Kilgore College offers a strong chemistry transfer program for students planning to pursue university degrees in chemistry, health sciences, biology, pre-medicine, pharmacy and chemical engineering. Coursework includes General Chemistry I and II as well as Organic Chemistry I and II.
Chemistry courses for non-science majors and health sciences students are also available, and several chemistry courses fulfill Core Curriculum requirements.
Many chemistry students participate in the Texas Watch water testing program and attend local meetings of the East Texas Section of the American Chemical Society, providing valuable hands-on learning and professional engagement opportunities.
Students studying chemistry may prepare for careers in laboratory science, pharmaceuticals, chemical manufacturing, environmental science, healthcare, research and engineering.

Students in grades 6-12 enrolled in a public, private, parochial, military or home school within these counties are eligible to enter the ETRSF: Lamar, Red River, Bowie, Delta, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris, Cass, Rains, Wood, Camp, Houston, Leon, Madison, Upshur, Marion, Harrison, Van Zandt, Smith, Henderson, Gregg, Rusk, Panola, Anderson, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Shelby, San Augustine, Sabine and Angelina. Students must adhere to all Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (RISEF) guidelines and rules to enter the ETRSF.
