Be on the front lines of saving lives with an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Professions Certificate from Kilgore College.

As first responders to accidents and disasters, EMS personnel bring the ER to the patient.  Kilgore’s Emergency Medical Services Professions Programs prepare students for diverse careers in the medical field. The programs teach you many life-saving skills, required for the fast-advancing world of EMS. The graduates work at numerous fire departments, private EMS services, and hospitals.

EMS Programs Offered

Cost: $1,050

Description: The EMT course provides foundational training in emergency medical services, preparing students to deliver critical care at the scene of an emergency and during transport. Covering basic life support skills, trauma response, and patient assessment techniques, this program emphasizes hands-on training and prepares students to handle a variety of urgent care situations. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to take the National Registry EMT certification exam, a key step in beginning a career in emergency response.

Career Pathways:

Cost: $8,175

Description: Kilgore College’s Paramedic program provides comprehensive training in advanced life support (ALS) techniques, equipping students with the skills to manage complex medical and trauma cases. The curriculum includes in-depth study of EMS operations, emergency procedures, cardiology, and pharmacology, coupled with extensive practical training. Students are prepared to perform critical procedures, lead emergency response efforts, and sit for the National Registry Paramedic certification exam, positioning them for rewarding careers in paramedicine.

  • Advanced cardiac life support, including EKG interpretation and defibrillation
  • Comprehensive EMS operations and emergency response techniques
