Diagnostic Cardiovascular Technology Adult Echocardiography

(DSAE) Advanced Technical Certificate

Program Description: The DSAE Certificate program is a fast-track, 6-month Adult Echocardiography program designed for working sonographers credentialed in RDMS or RVT (RVS). This two-semester program will have a class one evening a week. The clinical requirements of 384 hours are met with the sonographer’s current employment or placement assistance from Kilgore College. Participants will learn to perform echocardiograms, a widely used diagnostic test for heart disease. Echocardiography technologists perform these ultrasounds in hospitals and outpatient facilities. Completing this certificate, the sonographer will be eligible for the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer RDCS (ARDMS) exam or Registered Cardiac Sonographer RCS (CCI).
