Diagnostic Cardiovascular Technology Adult Echocardiography

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This certificate is a fast-track adult echocardiography program designed for working sonographers credentialed by ARDMS. This two-semester program includes didactic instruction one evening per week along with laboratory sessions.

The required 288 clinical hours are completed through the sonographer’s current employment on a self-paced basis. Participants will learn to perform echocardiograms, a widely used diagnostic test for heart disease. Echocardiography technologists perform these ultrasound exams in hospitals and outpatient facilities.

Upon completing this certificate, the sonographer will be eligible to sit for the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) exam through ARDMS with a completed Certification Verification (CV) form from a credentialed sonographer. Textbook and exam fees are included in tuition.

Note: It is the sonographer’s responsibility to complete the CV form.

  • NEXT CLASS: March 2 to Sept. 18, 2026
  • Registration deadline: Feb. 19, 2026
  • Hybrid Class: 6-month class
  • Admission Requirements: Current Credentialed Sonographer (ARDMS)
  • Clinical with Preapproved Employer: 5 Months (Approx 15 hours per week)
  • Lecture and Coursework: Completed online via Blackboard
  • Labs will be held on-campus on Thursdays from 6–9 p.m.
