Kilgore College will host a special ceremony this week to officially “swear in” the college’s mascots for the 2025-26 academic year.
The ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, outside at the KC Star Plaza just adjacent to the college’s pedestrian overpass.
The event will mark the beginning of the mascots’ duties as representatives of the college, celebrating their role in fostering school pride throughout the upcoming year.
KC mascots play a vital role in representing the college and promoting school spirit at various events including athletic events, parades, school visits, hospital visits, daycare visits, library reading circles and various community activities.
This year’s mascots to be sworn in:
- Rowdy: Kamryn Crosby (Hempstead)
- Drillbit: Arlyss Lee (Henderson)
- Ranger: Kelleigh Averett (Gilmer)
- Ranger: Jada-Ann E. Meroney (Henderson)
