KC Theatre earns multiple honors at Kennedy Center Festival

Kilgore College Theatre returned to the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) for the first time in more than 40 years and received multiple awards recognizing the company’s collaboration and craft.

KCACTF Meritorious Achievement Awards:

  • Meghan Potter (KC technical theatre director) – Excellence in Scenic Design
  • Pam Mercer-McWilliams (guest artist) – Excellence in Costume Integration
  • Ori Bedregal (KC sophomore): Excellence as Costume Liaison
  • Isabella Baker (KC freshman) – Excellence in Lighting Design
  • Mariana Saldaña (KC sophomore) – Excellence in Stage Management
  • Camron Feliciano (KC freshman) – Excellence in Stage Management

Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Nominees for “Dear Anne, From Nina”:

  • Katy St. Clair (KC freshman) – for Nina Jensen
  • Channing Muller (KC freshman) – for Anne Frank
  • Parker Dexter (KC freshman) – for Jeannie Jensen

“We’re proud of how this ensemble approached the work. The recognition from KCACTF confirms the quality of what our students are building here. KC Theatre is doing work our community can stand behind,” said Micah Goodding, KC Theatre director.

KCACTF supports college theatre programs nationwide by providing opportunities for students to share work, receive feedback from respondents and gain professional development experience.

KC Theatre continues its season with Little Women Dec. 4-7, presented in partnership with the Texas Shakespeare Festival.
