Kilgore College mascots will visit multiple area elementary and intermediate campuses to help usher in the new school year with enthusiasm and school pride.
Rowdy, Drillbit and their mascot teammates will welcome students as they arrive on campus, sharing smiles, high-fives and encouragement for the year ahead.
Serving as ambassadors for the college, KC mascots appear at athletic events, parades, school and hospital visits, daycare programs, library reading circles and a variety of community activities.
The schedule of school visits includes:
- Thursday, Aug. 14: West Rusk Campus, 7:15 to 8 a.m. (Ranger Jada and Drillbit are West Rusk alumni)
- Friday, Aug. 15: Kilgore Intermediate, 7:15 to 7:45 a.m.; Gilmer Elementary, 3:25 to 4 p.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 21: Kilgore Chandler Elementary, 7:10 to 7:50 a.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 2: Kilgore Primary, 7:10 to 7:40 a.m.
