KC graduate Connor Beets creates props for Showtime’s ‘Dexter: Resurrection’

Kilgore College graphic design graduate Connor Beets, who earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in spring 2025, was selected to create custom latex special effects props for Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection.

Beets was approached by the show’s set decorator to design realistic skin pieces, scalps and larger arm props. Some of the larger pieces were developed through life casting, a process that uses silicone molds made from live models that can be reused to produce latex props.

His first props appeared in Episode 4 of Dexter: Resurrection, “Call Me Red,” with additional pieces scheduled to be featured in upcoming episodes.

In addition to his work for the series, Beets owns and operates Imminent Doom Haunted House in Kilgore, which will open Sept. 27.

Visitors this season will be able to experience his terrifying artistry firsthand. More information is available at www.imminentdoomhaunt.com.

Beets is continuing his education in sculpture this semester at the University of Texas at Tyler.
