KC Fire Academy – Satellite Skills Training Classes

Please fill out and submit the form below if you want to host skills training/testing for an online fire academy or other online TCFP class at your location. 
Please note that the Texas Forest Service Grant only covers tuition. It does not cover the online course access and/or textbook ($135 for fire academy; varies for other TCFP courses), KCFA drill field usage fee of $125 (if applicable), or user license fee (required $50/student in fire academy course only). The host department may tack on a facility usage fee (especially for the students not from their department who are training at their facilities). You can decide how much to charge…usually $50-$100/student. 
 
Please note that you will need one TCFP Instructor II to oversee the course skills training locally. We recommend two additional TCFP Instructor I (minimum) instructors to assist in the training. If you will also be doing the TCFP skills testing at your location, you will need two additional TCFP Field Examiners. The lead instructor (who teaches the skills training) has to be a Kilgore College employee. The Field Examiners do not have to be employed by Kilgore College but must meet the TCFP Field Examiner requirements. The KC employee will oversee the training and testing (although the lead cannot test the students for whom he/she leads the training).

We need at least one month from receipt of this application to the actual start date of the course. It may take a little longer during school holidays. We also prefer to begin courses on a Wednesday or Thursday.
