Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (DMS).  The DMS program is a 21-month full time program including both didactic classes, laboratory and clinical experiences. This information packet includes the admission requirements, the point system for selection, the curriculum, and information to help you through the application process.

Upon completion of the provided curriculum, students will graduate with an Associate in Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (A.A.S.).  Students graduating from this program will be eligible to sit for the registry examination administered by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography.

This program is pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Kilgore College is an open admissions college; however, acceptance into the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program is limited and highly competitive. There is a limited number of applicants admitted to this program. To be considered for admission for the Fall Class (Cohort 2026), all required application material must be submitted by May 21, 2026.  Students are accepted based on a structured criteria and point system. The point system will determine admission decisions.
