Industrial and Residential Electrical Technology

Industrial Electricians are in demand:

Employees with industrial electrical skills are in demand in East Texas.  The Kilgore College Industrial Electrical and ResidentialTechnology Certificate course of study consists of ten courses which prepare individuals for good paying jobs in the manufacturing, industrial and mechanical environments. Skills learned during the course of study include:

  • Installing and troubleshooting single and three phase AC and DC motors
  • Computing circuit sizes
  • Understanding feeders and equipment for motors
  • Reading schematics
  • Identifying industrial switches and pilot devices
  • Installing wiring devices and grounding methods
  • Bending of conduit
  • Calculating the size of conductors, boxes, raceways and fault current

Work with a licensed electrician after nine courses:

At the completion of the nine-course training sequence, graduates will be qualified to enter the job marketplace as an apprentice working under the direction of a licensed electrician.
