Risk Management Institute

What is the Risk Management Institute?

The Risk Management Institute offers free safety courses through a generous grant from the Texas Mutual Insurance Company. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of each course. There is no cost, but pre-registration is required.

Industrial and Residential Electrical Technology

Industrial Electricians are in demand:

Employees with industrial electrical skills are in demand in East Texas.  The Kilgore College Industrial Electrical and ResidentialTechnology Certificate course of study consists of ten courses which prepare individuals for good paying jobs in the manufacturing, industrial and mechanical environments. Electric Power Technology

About the KC Electric Power Technology Program:

Students looking for a good-paying career straight out of high school have a viable option through Kilgore College’s Electric Power Technology Certificate. The 10-week course of study will award those who graduate with an electrical power certificate which will allow them to go right to work for an electric power company or contractor. The Kilgore College Electric Power Technology Certificate is an approved WIOA program.

TxCHSE Preparation and Testing

Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE):

To earn a TxCHSE (Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency) diploma, you must pass a standardized test to prove your proficiency at the high school level in four major subject areas: science, math, social studies, (with two extended responses) and  language arts/reading (with one extended response).

Online Classes (eLearning)

What is eLearning?

Kilgore College eLearning allows you more flexibility in your learning by studying online on your own time.  Time spent on campus is minimized to earn your associate degree, start a new career as a firefighter, become a real estate inspector or expand your education by taking one of the hundreds of credit and non-credit courses we offer online.

Quality Enhancement Plan

Write Your Future is Kilgore College’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) developed to satisfy requirements for KC’s reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).  Every 10 years, KC must implement a five-year plan to improve student learning outcomes and/or student success.  Since it was approved by the SACSCOC on-site team that visited KC in Fall 2018, the QEP officially kicked off in the fall of 2019. 

Athletics Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame Weekend postponed due to COVID-19:

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fall 2020 KC Athletics Hall of Fame Weekend has been postponed.  It is tentatively set for April 29-30, 2021.  Please check back for updates.
