Athletic Director: Jimmy Rieves
Jimmy Rieves is in his eleventh year as Director of Student Development at Kilgore College. He also serves as the school’s athletic director. He was named Director of Student Development in January of 2007, and oversees the school’s tutoring programs, grant programs (such as TRIO and Upward Bound) and Early Alert, a program that identifies and helps the college’s at-risk students. In June of 2008, the responsibilities of athletic director were added to his job.
Before becoming Director of Student Development, Rieves served seven seasons as head coach and defensive coordinator at KC--Texas’ all-time winningest junior college football program.
Rieves was a member of the Kilgore football program for 10 years, serving as defensive coordinator to his predecessor, Scott Hale. He ranks third all-time in winning percentage (.666) among KC coaches with a minimum five years’ experience. During his tenure, Rieves has compiled a 42-21 overall record as head coach and led the Rangers to two 10-win seasons (2001, 2004) while tallying an impressive 29-12 Southwest Junior College Football Conference mark.
