KILGORE, TX -- The Bossier Parish Lady Cavaliers rallied late and nearly made up a 16-point deficit but were eventually defeated, 57-54, by the Lady Rangers Jan. 11.
KC's Lyrik Williams and Jade Thurmon both scored 14 points in the victory. Da'Jah Thompson racked up a season-high 14 rebounds for Kilgore and scored six points in the win.
Kilgore helped the Lady Cavaliers rally by turning the ball over 27 times and only only making 1-of-15 attempts from the three-point line.
With the win, the Lady Rangers immprove to 12-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
The Lady Rangers will travel to Paris Saturday, Jan. 14, to play Paris Junior College at 2 p.m.
The KC men traded leads with Coastal Bend College 14 times in the game, coming up short with a 72-71 conference loss to the Cavaliers Jan. 11.
Willie Brooks for Coastal Bend led all scorers with 26 points. KC was led in scoring by Ndene Gueye who had 19 points and earned a double-double by adding 15 rebounds.
Tre Evans and Jamar Sandifer were both in double figures for KC with 17 and 13 points, respectively.
KC drops to 10-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The Rangers' next game is 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, on the road against Lamar State-Port Arthur.
