Velez hits game-winning three-pointer to defeat Seminole State

SEMINOLE, OK --  Kilgore College Lady Ranger Richelle Velez hit a game-winning three-pointer with nine-tenths of a second left to defeat Seminole State College, 88-86, in overtime in the season-opener Nov. 4.

Velez was also the Lady Rangers' top scorer with 27 points (8-of-18 from the three-point line).

KC's Jade Thurmon earned a double-double with an impressive 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Alexus Moore was also in double figures with 11 points.

Lady Ranger newcomers Patience Idoko and Tyra Cormier came off the bench to grab nine reboudns each and combine for nine points.

Seminole State College's Kaci Richardson led all scorers with 33 points.

The Lady Rangers (1-0) will play next at home, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, versus Paul Quinn JV.  

They will also play in the TJC Classic Nov. 10-11, with games starting each day at 3 p.m.
