ATHENS, TX -- In a must win game for the Kilgore College Rangers to make next week's regional tournament, the Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals dashed those hopes by a victory March 4 over KC, 80-69.
KC, hindered most of the second half of the season with injuries, went into halftime down by four points but the Cardinals outscored KC 40-33 in the second half.
TVCC's Josh Stamps led the Cardinals in scoring with 17 points. KC's Jamar Sandifer also scored 17 points.
Hyron Edwards and Amaad Wainwright were also in double figures for TVCC with 14 points and 13 points, respectively.
Additionally, KC's Chad Bowie scored 15 points, Radwan Bakkali scored 13 points and Davon Newton scored 10 points.
