Kilgore College continuing education students can now apply for financial aid to cover the costs of classes in certain CE programs thanks to a Texas Public Educational Grant (TPEG) the college received.
The grant awarded to KC allows application for funds for students who are enrolled in the following programs: Pharmacy Technology, Phlebotomy, KCEPT Lineman Program, Commercial Driving License (CDL), Human Resource Specialist, Industrial/Residential Electrical Technology, Patient Care Technology and Nurse Aide.
The grant is based solely on student need for eligibility and is only available to students enrolled in the programs listed above. Students will only be awarded the TPEG grant for one program (example: if awarded $1,500 for CDL License for Lineman program – the student cannot be awarded additional funds once enrolled in the Lineman program. The total award will be $1,500). This grant’s function is to assist students in paying for the program, but will not cover the entire program cost. It will be the student’s responsibility to pay any remaining balance.
You can complete either the FAFSA or the KC Financial Aid Application online, available in the AccessKC portal (https://accesskc.kilgore.edu/ICS).
Once logged in, click the Application/Forms link on the left-hand side of the screen, then scroll down to the KC Financial Aid Application on the left-hand side of the screen.
To qualify, students must also submit a high school transcript, complete a Verification Worksheet with KC and provide proof of income with tax returns, SSI, VA non-educational benefits, etc. Students on suspension are not eligible for this grant.
Male students must also be registered for Selective Service.
