TJC ends Rangers' season with 13-3 victory

The Kilgore College softball team suffered a season-ending 13-3 loss to the Tyler Junior College Apaches May 7 in the Region XIV Tournament in Lufkin.

KC held a 3-2 advantage after two innings, but the Apaches took the lead for good by scoring three runs in the top of the third inning. Kaitlyn Stebelton and Shelby Edwards each went 2-for-4 to lead the Rangers offensively.

Stebelton had two singles and scored two runs, while Edwards had two singles and an RBI.

The 2017 season was the best in the five-year history of the program.

Kilgore finished its season at 33-23 overall, 19-9 in conference play and competed in the Region XIV Tournament for the first time in school history.
