Swain Meter Co. donates $5,000 worth of equipment to Corrosion Technology

Kilgore College’s Corrosion Technology program received equipment worth about $5,000 from The Swain Meter Company March 23.

The company donated a Swain Meter which is a portable, custom built DC clamp-on ammeter that precisely measures the magnitude and direction of DC current flow on any conductor.

Used both onshore and offshore, Swain instruments assist with corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection by accurately reading current.

Brian Horanoff, owner of Swain Meter, Co., and Kirk Gillespie, general manager, were on campus to present the equipment to Kenya Ray, KC’s Corrosion Technology instructor.

The Swain Meter Company is based in Weidman, Mich. and has been in business since 1965.

More information on the company can be found at www.swainmeter.com.
