The Kilgore College Rangers softball team has qualified for the Region XIV Tournament after defeating Trinity Valley Community College May 5 in the final game of a doubleheader.
KC is the fourth seed in the East Divison of the playoffs, which begin Monday, May 13, at Angelina College in Lufkin.
Heading into the doubleheader May 5, KC had to win at least one game against the Cardinals. Losing the first game, 3-0, KC rallied to pull off a clutch 6-5 victory to advance to postseason play for the second time in the program's history.

TVCC 3, KC 0
ATHENS, TX -- Both teams had strong pitching performances in the first game of the doubleheader May 5, but TVCC had a better day at the plate.
Mattie McQuary started the game for KC and recorded 18 outs including only four hits and eight strikeouts.
TVCC scored two runs in the third inning on a single and a double.
The Cardinals scored one more run in the fifth, to finish the scoring for a 3-0 win.
KC 6, TVCC 5
In the second game, KC nabbed the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over TVCC.
KC fired up the offense in the first inning, scoring on a passed ball and a double by Nicole King.
The Cardinals scored in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly to make the score 2-1.
KC answered in the fifth inning, to go ahead 4-1, with RBIs by Ella Ortiz and King.
TVCC evened things up at four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring one run on a single.
With the game tied at four runs in the top of the sixth inning, Lauren Corley singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, to make the score 6-4.
TVCC rallied, but only scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the final score 6-5.
Mattie McQuary led KC to victory in the pitcher's circle, lasting one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out three and walking one.
Micheala Latham threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Latham recorded the last two outs to earn the save for the Rangers.
Amanda White started the game for KC, surrendering four runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one
KC racked up 13 hits in the game with multiple hits by Ellanisa Ortiz, Kelsey Ahart, Brooke Goynes, Nicole King and Christina Herrera.
