Kilgore College will offer “Principles & Practices I (Texas Specific)” beginning Nov. 18 in Henderson.
The 30-hour, three-week class will meet 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays from Nov. 18 to Dec. 12 at the Henderson ISD Higher Education Center, located at 101 Mary Street in Henderson.
Topics include an overview of licensing as a real estate broker or salesperson with emphasis on ethics of practice as a license holder; titles to and conveyance of real estate; legal descriptions, deeds, encumbrances and liens; distinctions between personal and real property; appraisal, finance and regulations; closing procedures; and real estate mathematics.
The class covers at least three hours of classroom instruction on federal, state and local laws relating to housing discrimination, housing credit discrimination and community reinvestment.
It fulfills 30 of the 180 hours of the required instruction for a salesperson license.
Textbooks can be purchased at the KC Bookstore on the Kilgore campus or at KC-Longview.
Cost of the class is $153. Registration can be sent via email and payments by credit card will be accepted over the phone.
