Rangers upend Jacksonville College, 90-60

KILGORE, TX -- The Kilgore College men rolled to a 90-60 conference victory against Jacksonville College in a rare Monday makeup game, validating their placement in the top of the heap of Region 14.

KC (6-3 Overall/Region 14) looked a little sloppy early on, but tuned up its offense after halftime, outscoring the Jaguars 48-29 in the second half.

The Rangers held Jacksonville to 28% shooting (21-of-73). Offensively, KC made 50% of its baskets (34-of-68).

Jacksonville's Keldrick Hayes, Jr. led all scorers with 19 points, grabbing 13 rebounds to earn a double-double.

Da'Sean Nelson led the Rangers in scoring with 14 points, three blocks and one assist.

Also in double figures for the Rangers were Dantwan Grimes and Paul Otieno with 12 points each, and KJ Jenkins with 10 points.

Jenkins and Otieno each grabbed seven rebounds and Grimes had six rebounds.

Other scorers for KC were Duane Posey (9), Godwin Illumoka (8), Stephan Morris (7), Tysen Banks (5), Javonne Lowrey (5), Dylan Cabs (4) and Justin Crawford (4).

Terry Moss III came off the bench for Jacksonville to score 10 points.

KC will travel Wednesday, March 3, to Brenham to play Blinn College. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
