Rangers tie Hill College in second game of double-header

HILLSBORO, TX -- Hill College tied the game on a home run in the sixth inning and the score remained the same throughout to end in a 9-9 tie in the second game of the double-header.

KC narrowly lost the first game, 11-10.

KC (2-3-1) scored one run in the top of the fourth with a home run by Dajah Montgomery, but Hill College answered with one of their own in the inning.

Hannah Grumbles also hit a home run, scoring two runs in the fifth inning.

The Rangers tallied 16 hits in the game with Adrienne Lewing, Makayla Trevino, Natalie Castillo, Grumbles and Calleigh King each with multiple hits.

Castillo, Trevino and Lewing each had three hits to lead the Rangers.

Macie McGibney started the game at pitcher for KC, throwing 4.1 innings, striking out three batters and giving up six earned runs

Natalya Cuevas and Marissa Medina pitched in relief.
