LEWISVILLE, TX -- The Kilgore College Rangers went 1-1 in the East/West Challenge, losing the first game narrowly to Tohono O'odham (AZ), and knocking down a buzzer-beater in game two to defeat Howard College.
KC VS. TOHONO O'ODHAM (AZ):
KC freshman guard Tre Evans led the Rangers Nov. 5 in scoring versus Tohono O'odham Community College with 23 points in the Ranger loss, 72-65.
C.B. Diallo scored 20 points for KC and Jamar Sandifer added 11.
Cheikh Fall had an impressive outing defensively with 14 rebounds. Fall also scored 6 points in the contest.
KC VS. HOWARD COLLEGE:
The Rangers pulled off a big win on the road Nov. 7, defeating Howard College on a buzzer-beater by Chad Bowie to defeat the Hawks, 59-58, in the East/West Challenge in Lewisville.
Tre Evans led the scoring for the Rangers with 16 points, knocking down 4-of-7 from behind the three-point line.
KC's Jamar Sandifer was also in double figures with 11 points.
With the win, KC improved to 2-1 on the season. KC's next game is 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at home versus Northwestern State JV.
