Rangers open up season with win over LCS

KILGORE, TX -- In typical first-game fashion, it was a bit sloppy at times, but the Kilgore College men pulled out a victory Nov. 1 over the Louisiana Christian School Disciples Nov. 1 in the season-opener, 69-58.

KC (1-0) had three players in double figures with freshman Darrian Grays as the Rangers' leading scorer with 12 points.  Sophomore Samory Gueye and freshman Daytone Jennings each scored 10 points for KC.

The Rangers shot 54 percent from the field (26-of-48) but turned the ball over 31 times in the contest.

Sophomore Lansana Nwosu led all rebounders with 11 boards, adding six points.

LCS had two players in double figures with Jaques Clark and Michael Smith each scoring 10 points.

KC's next games are in the Chris Booker Classic at Tyler Junior College Friday-Saturday, Nov. 3-4.

They will face Southwest Christian College 2 p.m. Friday and Brookhaven College 2 p.m. Saturday at Wagstaff Gynmasium in Tyler
