COPPERAS COVE, TX -- The No. 20 Kilgore College Rangers never recovered from three costly turnovers in the first quarter that resulted in 21 unanswered points by the No. 15 East Central Community College (Miss.) Warriors.
East Central turned an interception and two fumbles into touchdowns in the first quarter to storm to a quick 21-0 lead.
KC fought back in the second half, but it wasn't enough with ECCC winning the 2015 C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl 35-21 at Bulldawg Stadium.
Wide receiver Garrett Barton was named KC's Most Valuable Player after the game.
KC finishes the season with a 7-5 record and the title of Southwest Junior College Football Conference Champions.
