PARIS, TX -- The Kilgore College Rangers broke their three-game losing streak in a huge way on the road Feb. 21, knocking off Paris Junior College, 70-60, at the Hunt Center.
The Rangers hit eight three pointers in the first half and were 9-of-23 from beyond the three point line for the game. KC went into the locker room ahead at halftime, 41-29.
KC (14-11, 6-10 Region XIV), led by as many as 18 points, 48-30, with 17 minutes left in regulation.
Paris (22-6, 11-6 Region XIV) cut the lead to eight points with 39 seconds left when PJC's Reggie Tharp hit a long three pointer, but it was just too late for the Dragons.
Three Rangers were in double figures with Chad Bowie as the leading scorer with 17 points. Samory Gueye had 10 points and Davon Newton had 13 points.
"It's always hard to win at Paris -- hard to win on the road, period," said head coach Brian Hoberecht. "It's a nice feather in our hat as we get down the stretch."
PJC's Alonzo Campbell led all scorers with 21 points followed by Tharp who scored 20.
KC's next game is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at home versus Panola College.
