Rangers go 2-0 in Robert Pack Classic at Tyler Junior College Nov. 7-8

The Kilgore College Rangers improved to 4-0 on the young season with a two-game sweep in Robert Pack Classic held at TJC Nov. 7-8.

KC defeated Pro Vision Academy 91-59 on Nov. 7 and defeated El Centro Club Team 87-63 Nov. 8.  

Both games were played at Wagstaff Gymnasium in Tyler.

KC vs. Pro Vision Academy

The Rangers played a bit sloppy in the first half, but came out in the second half on fire en route to a decisive 91-59 victory over Pro Vision Academy.

KC made only 40 percent of its field goals in the first half which made the halftime lead only 8 points, 37-9. But the Rangers looked like a different team in the second half, putting up 54 points in the final two quarters to run away with the victory.

KC was led in scoring by Quantez Brown and Jaleel Wheeler with 19 points each.  Sophomore Michael Thomas nearly notched a double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Jonathan Milligan played 32 minutes of the contest and was also in double figures with 11 points.

They continued their impressive execution from the charity stripe with 89 percent of free throws made (24-of-30).

KC vs. El Centro Club Team

The Kilgore College men played a solid game Nov. 8 against a talented El Centro Club Team, defeating El Centro 87-63.

El Centro's Ricky Horn led all scorers with 22 points, but it wasn't enough for the balanced offensive attack of the Rangers with five players in double figures.  

Michael Thomas was the high-scorer for the Rangers with 14 points, followed by Bakari Copeland with 13, Alassane Kah with 12, Quantez Brown with 11 and Jordan Smart with 10.

KC came up big defensively against El Centro, holding them to shooting only 34 percent from the field.
