KILGORE, TX -- In their final non-conference game of the season, the Kilgore College Rangers put together a monster second half Jan. 2 to upend the Louisiana Christian Prep Disciples, 106-62.
KC scored 58 points in the second half, but a more impressive statistic was KC's shooting percentage -- 69.2 percent (45-of-65).
The Rangers spread the ball around plenty with eight players in double figures.
Kevin Buckley and Warren Richardson each scored 14 points with Buckley draining 4-of-6 three-point attempts.
Jordyn Owens, Demiere Brown and Malachi Davidson all scored 13 points and Rodrigue Tha Andela scored 12.
Darrian Grays scored 11 points, nine of which were from three-pointers (3-of-5).
Jairus Stevens only missed one shot (4-of-5) and scored 10 points.
Trenton Payne, Jr., stole the show for the Disciples by scoring almost half of his team's points. Payne ended up with 28 points and drained 6-of-16 three-pointers.
The Rangers resume conference play 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, in Kilgore against Lamar State College-Port Arthur.
