Ranger softball team sweeps NTCC, improves to 16-6 in conference

KILGORE, TX -- Kilgore College swept the Northeast Texas Community College Eagles April 12, giving the Rangers their 16th conference victory of the season.

KC stands at 28-18 overall and 16-6 in Region XIV play with six games left in the regular season.

Pitcher Katy Worrell tossed the win in the first game, her 15th win of the season and pitcher Lashanda Jones got the win in the second game, her eighth win of the season.

In the first game, Amber Williams knocked in two runs, on singles in the second and fifth innings. Other RBI came from Hannah Carpenter, Manda Wilmoth and Kaylie Bush.

Kaitlyn Stebelton, Hannah Carpenter and Shelby Edwards each had RBI in the second game to give KC a 4-3 decision.  Edwards RBI was a home run to left field in the second inning.

The Rangers are back at home Friday, April 14, to face Tyler Junior College at 1 and 3 p.m. at the Ballpark at KC Commons.
