Ranger softball team sweeps LeTourneau JV

LONGVIEW, TX -- The Kilgore College Rangers swept the LeTourneau JV in Longview Feb. 25 with scores of 8-3 and rally to win, 4-1.

Four RBI Day For Marissa Medina Brings Victory For Rangers Over LETU JV

Marissa Medina was clutch at the plate with runners on base Wednesday, driving in four RBI to lead Rangers past LETU JV 8-3 on Tuesday. Medina drove in runs on a home run in the fifth and a walk in the seventh.

LETU JV scored three runs in the sixth inning, but the Rangers still managed to pull out the victory. LETU JV scored its runs on a home run by Madelyn Tannery.

KC fired up the offense in the first inning with Racheal Thomas driving in two runs on a triple.

Trailing three runs in the fifth inning, KC scored its runs on an RBI home run by Medina.

Mattie McQuary earned the victory on the mound for Rangers. She went seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out 13 and walking zero.

Samantha Akers started the game for LETU JV. She surrendered four runs on five hits over three innings, striking out three. Ashley Decock, Sadie Morgan and Jade Merrell each contributed in relief for LETU JV.

Rangers tallied two home runs on the day. Medina went for the long ball in the fifth inning and Thomas put one out in the third inning.

Rangers racked up eight hits with Thomas and Lauren Corley all managing multiple hits for the Rangers. Thomas went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Rangers in hits.

Hannah Welch led LETU JV with two hits in three at bats.

Rangers Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over LETU JV

The Rangers took the lead late in the game in a 4-1 victory over LETU JV on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Rangers batting in the top of the sixth when an error scored one run for Rangers.

In the top of the fourth inning, KC tied things up at one when Nicole King grounded out, scoring one run.

Jenna Lewis pitched the Rangers to victory. She surrendered one run on seven hits over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Bailey Richey was in the pitcher's circle for LETU JV. She went three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out two and walking zero.

Jade Merrell and Hannah Welch entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings each.

Hannah Grumbles led KC with two hits in four at bats.
