Ranger softball gets walk-off win in eighth inning with Brewer single

KILGORE, TX --  Kilgore College defeated Hill College 3-2 in dramatic walk-off fashion in the bottom of the eighth inning with an RBI single by Maddie Brewer.

In the bottom of the eighth, Marissa Medina singled, followed by a groundout by Hannah Grumbles to advance Medina to second base.

Brewer singled on the first pitch of her at-bat to score Medina for the walk-off win and coach Trish Robinson's first victory as KC head coach.

Hill College got on the board first the second inning with an RBI by Shelby Pelton.

Madalyn Spears broke the tie in the fifth inning with a home run.

KC evened things up at two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with a sacrifice bunt by Brewer.

Lewis took the win on the mound for KC, striking out 13 batters, allowing only two runs on five hits.

Amanda Little started the game at pitcher for Hill College, allowing eight hits and three runs, striking out three batters with no walks.

KC racked up eight hits in the game with Medina, Natalie Castillo and Spears all with multiple hits.
