Paris rallies to defeat Lady Rangers, 64-63

KILGORE, TX -- The Paris Junior College Lady Dragons ended their three-game losing streak Jan. 13 by slipping past the Lady Rangers, 64-63, at Masters Gymnasium.

The Lady Dragons rallied from 15 points down at halftime and tied the game up at 60 with four minutes left in the game.

 Jade Thurmon put KC back ahead, 62-60, with a midrange jumper.  With one minute left, PJC was up 64-62.  KC was fouled but only made one-of-two free throws.

KC had one final opportunity at the end of the game but missed two close shots as the buzzer expired to give PJC the 64-63 victory.

The Lady Rangers struggled making shots in the second half, only making 22 percent of their shots (41 percent in the first half).

KC was led in scoring by Jade Thurmon with 23 points.  Thurmon also grabbed nine rebounds.

PJC ended up with three players in double figures with Lindsey Thorpe leading the Lady Dragons with 15 points.  Brianna Thomas and Mackenzie Tillman each scored 11 for PJC.

The Lady Rangers' next game is 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Carthage versus Panola College.  They are 11-5 overall and 5-2 in Region XIV play.
