Paris rallies to defeat KC men, 62-60

PARIS, TX -- The Paris Junior College Dragons earned a much-needed conference victory Feb. 2, coming from behind to defeat the Kilgore College Rangers, 62-60, in Hunt Gymnasium. 

KC led 33-29 at halftime, but struggled with 18 turnovers in the contest.  Paris only had eight turnovers.

Sophomore Jalon Pipkins led Paris with 28 points, scoring 16 of his points in the second half.

Sophomore Quantez Jackson was also in double figures for the Dragons with 16 points.

KC's leading scorer was sophomore Jordyn Owens with 21 points.

Also in double figures for KC was Jairus Stevens with 16 points.  Stevens score 14 of his 16 points in the second half.

With the loss, KC drops to 15-8 overall and 6-6 in conference play.

Paris improves to 11-11 overall and 2-9 in Region XIV.

The Rangers are off Wednesday, but will play the second game of a men's and women's double-header Saturday, Feb. 9, against Panola College.

The women will tip off against the Ponies at 2 p.m.  The men will follow at 4 p.m. in Masters Gymnasium.
