Paris nets best game of season to upend Lady Rangers, 83-57

PARIS, TX -- The Paris Junior College Lady Dragons were out to prove they were better than their 1-5 conference record and they did just that Jan. 14, defeating the Kilgore College Lady Rangers, 83-57.

The Lady Dragons started off hot and KC just couldn't catch up.

With the loss, KC drops to 4-3 in conference and 12-4 overall.  PJC improves to 2-5 in Region XIV play and 5-12 overall.

The Lady Dragons had five players in double figures with Makaela Mosley leading the way with 18 points.  Tamiah Hewett scored 12 points for PJC and Marqueshia Thompson and Stephanie Charles both scored 11 points.  PJC's Takiya Lopez was also in double figures with 10 points.

KC's Lyrik Williams was the only Lady Ranger in double figures with 20 points, earning a double double by adding 13 rebounds.

The Lady Rangers struggled from the free throw line, only making 15-of-36 attempts (41.7 percent) and only made 20-of-72 field goals (27.8 percent).

PJC was 33-of-73 in overall field goals with a 45.2 percentage and was 9-of-14 from the free throw line (64.3 percent).

The Lady Rangers' next game is 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, versus Panola in Kilgore.
