Panola women slip past Kilgore, 71-70

CARTHAGE, TX -- KC's Adrianna Edwards hit a free throw with three seconds left that would have tied the game up, but KC was called for a lane violation, resulting in a 71-70 loss to the Panola College Lady Fillies Feb. 17.

The Lady Rangers trailed most of the game, but made a late surge to catch up with Panola late in the fourth quarter, falling just short.

KC's Lyrik Williams led all scorers with a season-high 30 points.  Edwards was also in double figures with 13 points and Dominique Thomas added 11.

J'Lene Martinez led all Fillies in scoring with 14 points.

With the loss, the Lady Rangers drop to 15-12 overall and 8-9 in Region XIV play.

KC's next game is 2 p.m. at home versus San Jacinto College.  Following the game will be the first-ever "Guns vs. Hoses Game" fundraiser pitting the Kilgore Police Department against the Kilgore Fire Department
