Panola College nips Lady Rangers, 72-68

KILGORE, TX -- The Lady Rangers came back from 17 points down and tied the game up with less than a minute left but couldn't ever get the lead, losing a close one Jan. 18 to Panola College, 72-68.

KC's Jade Thurmon led all scorers with 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.  Kilgore's Lyrik Williams scored 15 points.

Richelle Velez, back from the injured reserve, was also in double figures with 12 points (4-of-15 from the three point line).

Panola had two players in double figures with Daria Eremeeya with 15 points and Tyshelle Perry with 14 points.

With the loss KC drops to 12-5 overall and 4-4 in conference play.   Panola improves to 13-5 overall and 4-4 in Region XIV play.

The Lady Rangers' next game is at home versus Angelina College 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21.
