Panola College defeats Lady Rangers, 69-59

CARTHAGE, TX -- The Panola College Fillies won the free throw battle Jan. 17, only missing two free throws the entire game, defeating Kilgore College, 69-59, at Arthur Johnson Coliseum.

The Lady Rangers missed 12 free throws (16-of-28) while Panola only missed two (21-of-23).

Patience Okpe was impressive for Panola, scoring 24 points (9-of-18).

KC had three players in double figures with Hennesy Handy coming off the bench to lead KC in scoring with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Alex Strawhorn and Richelle Velez each scored 10 points.  Velez was 2-of-6 from beyond the three-point line.

With the win Panola improves 14-3 overall and 6-2 in Region XIV play.

The Lady Rangers drop to 11-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

KC's next game is 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in Lufkin versus Angelina College.
